Meet Amanda Hinners
Amanda has been working with animals all her life and started her career
in grooming 7 years ago. She apprenticed under a Master Groomer in her home town of Coos Bay, OR, for 1 1/2 years.
When she started working as a groomer in that salon she had no idea that this would turn into a passionate career for
her.
Amanda moved from Coos Bay in 2004 and began working at a local vet clinic
here in Carroll. Where after 3 months of cleaning kennels she finally started grooming again. At the interview
for that job, she was asked, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" She responded with, "I hope to own my own grooming
salon." Less then 5 years later here she is, with her own salon.
"Grooming dogs has been a passion of mine for some time now. It
started with a job given to me as a way to keep me from joining the Army. Little did I know that my passion for animals
would spill into a career in grooming.
I can honestly say that when your pet comes to me for a groom, your dog
will be cared for like he or she is my own dog. And let me tell you, my dogs are really spoiled!"
Amanda also volunteers her time to local Animal Rescues and Shelters grooming pets who need new homes.
Most recently she was in Des Moines for a full day of grooming and was able to fast track 20 dogs to the Adoption Room where
6 of them found homes while she was there!
Amanda currently owns two dogs, both Australian Shepherds, name Jesse James
and Rocky. She also owns two horses, CJ and Gunner.
